“Designing a home from far away could have been a challenge, but Blackdog did a great job of communicating and made us feel comfortable every step of the way,” says Dan. The initial meetings were face-to-face and involved walking through the space together. After that, it was Zoom calls and emails with attached images and mood boards to visualize the various options. Dan confirms, “When it all came together, it brought the space to another level.”

Nature was the inspiration from the very beginning. ✨
The one-of-a-kind handmade glazed brick tile captures the colors and movement found in the surrounding landscape, while the white oak flooring brings warmth, texture, and organic character through every knot and grain variation.
The cabinetry was designed to echo the textures of tree bark and the rich, earthy tones found throughout Park City’s mountain landscape.
And the views? The perfect finishing touch. 🙌

In Old Town Park City, building up is often the best way to maximize square footage on tight lots, which means staircases and hallways become a huge part of the experience of the home. ✨
Instead of creating a simple drywall stairwell, we took the opportunity to turn this multi-level transition into an architectural feature. Custom steel detailing, frosted glass panels, and floating white oak stairs bring texture, light, and an elevated modern feel to every level of the home.
One of our favorite examples of how functional spaces can become some of the most beautiful moments in a project. 🤍

Pulling from the same palette carried throughout the home, terracotta tile, handcrafted zellige, rustic cabinetry, and timeless oil rubbed bronze finishes create a space that feels cohesive, warm, and built to last.
Designed for a group of kids and adults alike, this space balances durability with thoughtful design, ready for post ski mornings and the shift into bike and hike season ☀️🚲
