We’re honored to be featured in Western Home Journal for our transformation of a dated 1990s home into a warm, sophisticated mountain sanctuary. Led by Amanda Evans, principal designer for Blackdog Builders, in collaboration with our skilled in-house construction team, this full-scale remodel reimagined every inch of the residence—from heavy, rustic finishes to light-filled, modern spaces infused with comfort and character.
The article highlights Amanda’s unique background in design and construction—shaped by experience in Park City, Newport Beach, and on an HGTV production in Pittsburgh—and her return to Park City in 2019 to launch Blackdog’s in-house design services alongside her father, company founder Todd Evans.
Working closely with a Miami-based family who use the property as a second home, Amanda and the Blackdog team brought their shared vision to life. The renovation included handcrafted details like handmade zellige tile, reclaimed wood mantels, rustic white oak cabinetry, and a showstopping Italian range—all grounded by organic textures, layered lighting, and thoughtful spatial flow.
With many of our clients living remotely, this project also reflects the strength of our design-build model. Using online construction software, digital mood boards, renderings, and weekly communication, we provide a seamless, collaborative experience no matter where our homeowners are located.
This feature celebrates not just Amanda’s design leadership, but the full Blackdog Builders team whose craftsmanship, creativity, and coordination turned a dated home into a modern mountain retreat designed for connection, comfort, and everyday living.
